Just after some suggestions really. Haven't a clue about car audio and really fancy one of those pop-out touch screen jobbies. If I were to get a facia plate specific to the Z4 could I pretty much fit anything or do I have to get adaptors etc. Is it possible to get anything that does say nav and hands free phone etc or am I asking too much now

You'll need fascia adaptor, a loom adaptor, an probably a aerial adaptor, bare in mind that when the scene is open it will be sat in front of the air vents

Yeah I thought about that but tbf I could direct them completely sideways or up or off (if that's possible)

I did this. I think your only option for single din flip out screen is the pioneer one - not cheap tho.
I don't think kenwood or any of the other major players seem to do them anymore.
It was about £350 with another £300 if you also want the satnav for it (a separate unit hidden behind the dash).
All that was needed was the unit and the fascia plate - otherwise just plug and play.
Even works with my mfsw buttons (not the phone buttons tho - just volume and change track rocker switches).
Yes, screen blocks the air vents when flipped up. Hasn't caused me any problems.
Just switch them sideways and th airflow mostly misses it.

Have to admit tho, the few times I have had the heater blasting as hot as poss, I have either closed the screen or switches the centre vents off. Was told it should be fine, but I'm reluctant to blast it with hot air all the same.
Often had the aircon going flat out with centre vents open, vents angled sideways - no problems.

I have a Parrot Asteroid in my zed - same as what they put in the Alfa 4C. The sat nav on it is useless, the App Store is out of date. The handsfree is temperamental. But the fact I have something like 3x USB in AND an SD card slot and the screen is pretty cool kind of makes up for its misgivings for me.
I find I can wedge my iPhone 6 between the ash tray and the trim above, so that works for sat nav. I'd rather listen to music or my ducklakeview exhaust than have handsfree....

That's the sort of thing I was after. Do you have any pics of the install? I've Had a quick look on eBay and only found black fascia adaptors...did you find a grey one to match the trim?

Be careful with the fascia adaptors, I purchased one for a DAB single Din radio that I acquired from a well known auction site and it was too narrow by about 3mm to fit the radio in, replacement sent and that was the same.

And would this possibly fit?
