Replacing Headlight Internal Parts?

Hey guys,
I'm on my second attempt of buying black bezel xenon headlights to replace my OEM z4M silver headlights that have become battered, tattered and chunked. Tried refinishing them 2 time but they just don't look right.

Long story short,
Both times I have bought the driver side headlight, both time the internal projector has been loose and the aim always downward at the floor. After inspection it's the same little white tab attached to the height adjuster that has been broken or (in this case) come loose from the adjustment mechanism.

Does anyone know if it's possible to take this part out and replace it with a good white internal tab or perhaps reattach it?

I have 2 good donor headlights which I took off that I can use but don't want to end up with a bunch of broken headlights from attempting this!

Yup the white piece that connects to the motor + reflector housing comes off - at least on the halogens.

You'll need to undo and remove the adjustment motor first (2 torx screws) which will allow you to unhook it from the piece - it's a ball inset type.

I don't know if you can just remove that white piece at that stage (it's screwed onto the reflector housing) without removing some other parts first but it does come off assuming it is the same as halogen.

Ref: I've disassembled my headlights multiple times to add halos.
