Replacing headlamps (well trying to..)

I've received my new Philips Xtreme headlights :D and trying to install them, but struggling at the moment. :x

In the manual, it says that once you have opened the protective cover (behind the lights) you then need to "pull the wire clamp straight out". I cannot get this wire clamp to move (on either side) and wondering if anyone else ever had this issue and which way exactly one is meant to pull it? The space to work is very small (just turning the tyre to full lock) so I guess this makes it more difficult, nonetheless I cannot get this wire clamp to move....

Any advise would be appreciated.

Thanks<

Not sure, but I would think taking the tyre off would give you more room to work with.

you have to pull the clamp down, not out! its extremely difficult sometimes and wont willingly want to move!

Thanks guys for the advice, yeah I thought that I may have to take the wheels off to get more space, was hoping not to have to do that. The manual says:

1 Pull the wire clamp out straight

then..

2 Pull the wire clamp past the catches, and fold it down

To be honest I cant understand from the pics they provide exactly what they mean but Nova2k7 I presume the pulling down you are talking about is step 2? Looking at the pics, from what I can understand, looks like you need to pull it out first to get it past the catches and only then you can pull it down?

For mine, the wire has to be depressed slightly, then moved sideways to release the bulb...

As the wire clamp can be difficult to pull, I usually slip a large screwdriver under a catch and just ease the wire out, and then do the same with the other catch. And while it is easier to deal with the lights with the wheel off, it shouldn't be a problem with the wheels on full lock. Obviously, you need to put full lock on either out or in, depending on which side you're changing!

Actually, I think it's wheels facing out on full lock gives you better access than wheels facing in on full lock.

Thanks everyone! Yeah I tried full lock out and could barely get in the wheel arch, I had to do it full lock in. I think CR55EDS's idea of the screwdriver is going to be the way forward here, Ill give that a try!
