Replacing bulbs

My handbrake pinged off as I was walking away from my car and it rolled into another car, scratching the side.

Any advice on how to proceed greatly appreciated.

 utter sickener Dan :( i doubt there is enough red wine you could consume in one evening to get over that right now .
Think i would be sourcing a wing even if it needed a repaint ,
the rest is hard to say from the above pics but it looks a filler , prep + paint job , California Chris is your man who can make it all good again .

I was thinking Chris. Thanks for the link to the wing, the dent is so bad I think you're right about getting a wing.

I'll be on the hard stuff tonight, whiskey and vodka neat!

Id let him decide on the wing before jumping in .

Only the bumper looks like it can be smart repaired from your photos the rest looks like its a bodyshop job. The wing to me looks like it can be repaired. My mate has an E Class Merc convertible had similar damage on the front wing, the wing in that car is aluminium panel but bodyshop I use here repaired it and it came out good as new!

Always leave mine handbrake on and in gear, reverse gear if pointing downhill, handbrakes not the greatest on the Z4 adjusted correctly or not.

oh yea

Can’t help with suggestions re repairs but this is one of the reasons I ALWAYS park in gear, mostly without using the handbrake and especially after long journeys.

One of my first cars, a proper miserysh!tbox Rover 214i did this very thing and rolled down a hill backwards, across a t-junction and smacked into a brick wall. It would have been very tricky if anyone was walking/driving into its path but fortunately it didnt hit anything apart from the wall. lucky.
To be honest, I was glad I could claim on the insurance and scrap it, it was a truly dismal car but I had a student debt and a new mortgage to pay, so yannow.

Hope you can get it sawtid.

Normally I do as well, was just moving cars around on the drive and forgot! :headbang:

Appreciate the feedback, would prefer not to have to replace the wing so your comments are encouraging. :)

That's awful. How the bloody hell does the e brake ping off when you are walking away?

Not an e brake on an E86.

Scootr’s a merrycan & they call handbrakes ebrakes over there (emergency brake, as opposed to electronic brake)

Really sad to see those photos OP.

I hope you can get it sorted without too much grief and cost. It might be worth asking if anybody on here can recommend a good bodyshop in your part of the world.
