Replacement Windscreen Trim

Managed to get a few jobs completed on the coupe today including its first exterior and interior wash since I bought it nearly 2 weeks ago.
The previous owner had removed the perished windscreen trim but did provide me with a genuine replacement.
So with the momentum of having sucessfully completed a few jobs I decided to have a pop at fitting the trim - big mistake!
Fitting the side / vertical trim was no issue but I found the top / horizontal trim impossible to fit so ended up giving up and removing it.
Suspect i need to order another trim but before i do has anyone managed this to a successful outcome?

I remember doing the same on an e85 which was ‘ok’ but hindered as a windscreen replacement had caused the sealant to make it sit poorly

However I also recall a thread on here where someone struggled with an e86 fitment? May be worth a search?

I don't know if this might help:- https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=2028148&hilit=Coupe+screen#p2028148

Always been reading that it is impossible to do without removing the screen on a Coupe which made me giving up on replacing mine BUT someone on here managed to do it a few weeks ago...

Perhaps that is why my one does not fit so well!

I redid mine, took me a good two attemtpts though as it was still making a noise with the roof down. Used windscreen gue in the end to keep it down.

Raymond - that gap will make a lot of wind noise with the roof down, which is why I replaced mine. Makes a massive difference in noise level.
