Has anyone got any recommendations regarding supply and fitting of a new hood?

I'm in Gloucestershire and I've got The Hood Guys in Birmingham and BAS (Cwmbran south wales) near me. BAS prices look pretty
competitive - has anyone used them?
I'm quite happy to go further afield for a good supplier. :driving:

My hood was watertight and fine but quite faded after 15 years so I applied about 4 coats of Renovo to try and restore the colour. Now it feels as rough as f*** and is so stiff it wont fold down nicely. :headbang:

I mentioned replacing the hood to the misses who grumbled a bit and gave a resigned shrug. That's as near to a nod of approval as I'm ever going to get so I'm thinking of having it done! :D
 
You may get more responses if you post in tbe right forum, nobody uses soft tops on e89s :D Pretty sure a few members have new tops

Jack Smith in Swansea is very highly regarded in the mr2 and mx5 world for replacing soft tops on those cars, pretty sure he would have no issue doing a z4 one :thumbsup:

Wow that takes me back I recall going to Jack Smiths in the Brynmill area of Swansea with my dad in the 70’s ! Chuffed they are still trading, my dad was in the motor trade and took a lot of cars there for upholstery and rag top related jobs, back in the early 80’s I took a Triumph Herald there for new carpets and they did a superb job :thumbsup:

A lot of Z3 owners use him for replacement hoods, done in a day whilst you go shopping in Swansea and very reasonable price.
 
Interesting anyone thought of converting a E89 to soft top.
It could still fold down and hide in the boot.
Even if it was just a manual roof with studs.
Perhaps a car with uneconomic roof repair.
Although i have seen complete roof with all elec. and hyd. for £400.
 
There's a guy called Joe who can just change the Canvas and he's based in the Stoke-on-Trent area.
Supply and Fit brand new around £1200 or fit only if you supply around £450, He's mobile and comes to you.
