Replacement red dome on interior mirror

Hi

Just brought a 2005 z4 3.0.
I'm missing the red dome sensor on the bottom of the interior mirror.
Can I get a replacement without buying a whole new interior mirror ?

There was a long thread on it started by me when I noticed mine was grey.

From memory roadsters were grey and coupes were red. Not sure what logic could be applied, or if my memory serves me correctly. :D
 
Mine was missing when I bought my roadster. The sensor worked fine but was not so aestheticaly pleasing.

I bought a 2nd hand e46 mirror from eBay for about £15. Pulled the red dome off when it arrived and then fitted that to the Z. I thought I would have to use super glue but it just clicked into place.
 
Denis O, good idea. What colour was your cover ?
If it was red ( as all the e46 ones I've seen are red) does it work ok ?

Yeah, not sure how accurate they are though as I have bought a few parts that have worked out a lot cheaper. In any case some good advice above. And my clown nose is grey :D
 
I've ordered a e46 mirror off eBay for £9.
Red cover but I think it's only for the alarm led so doesn't really matter.
