Replacement key

Hi all

Just got a quote from BMW for a new key £180, I thought it was a bit pricey but found two carlock specialist one quoted £250 and the other £228

Are they really that complicated to make, I have read about transponders and such but does anyone know of any cheaper places in the Manchester area.

I will have go with cheaper dealer option if not.....I never thought I would ever say that
