Replacement key cutting

Hi all
I’ve purchased a new fresh key from Option 4 which is a company I found from google but they haven’t actually cut the key so I have a blank blade that needs cutting, I called them to ask who cuts the keys and they advised going to Timpsons which I just tried this morning and the chap advised me that the have a company wide policy not to cut keys .

Does anyone know somewhere else to try it please?

Thanks

Location?? The master locksmith can pretty much do anything but unless you are local it would need to be mail order

That's strange as my local Timpsons have a huge sign saying they can cut most car keys. :?

I've read positive feedback about a place called "bmkeys" in E. London who also do a postal service.

Or if you are in the NW of England there is someone in Cheshire who we don't mention on here - but if you PM'd me I could give you his details! He supplied, cut and coded a flip-style key for me in 2016 and disabled the missing keys.

I used a independent cobbler key cutter who cut my blank keys a diamond key and a flip style key. I will then failed to code them using a AK90+ key coding machine and ended up using a mobile locksmith. Keys were from eBay and came with correct transponders in them. Locksmith had to use his machine to read the eeprom chip on the EWS module in order to code the key to an already used key slot that I didn’t have the key for. I paid £120 for him to sort my key out.

Same as mr.tourette, I used these guys a few months back for a second key. Located just off the North Circular and very good service. Highly recommended.

The Master Locksmith do that. Maybe drop them an email. Darren I think is the guy I dealt with.

Timpsons told me they won’t cut other peoples blanks as the steel is of variable quality and can damage their machines.

Not really. People are trying to help but we don't know where you are? Near Suffolk could mean Essex, Cambs or Norfolk - quite an area!

To be fair, I wasn't moaning or mocking.
It genuinely gave me a laugh on an otherwise boring afternoon.

As others have suggested, Masterlocksmith has a postal service. They will refurb an original key (internals/battery) for £25 or with a new body for +£20. They need the original transponder for these services, so I’m not sure if they’ll do a whole new key.

I have just posted a key off to them ‘cos it won’t recharge any more, so I can’t recommend them quite yet.
