hulloha esteemed Z4ers! I've done a 'google' and I've searched the forums and read through a number of threads about how to replace the third brake light itself - yet cant find anything about only replacing the gasket. Nothing for an E85 is currently coming up on eBay either.

Any pointers would gladly be received by me and my old Z4 and its perishing rubber!

Many thanks in advance, Rich

It is only a very thin gasket and even the eBay ones come with one.
But, as I mentioned a few days back, they can twist if you're not careful and it is well worth using a bead of sealant as well. Put it on the metal edge on the boot, as this makes it less likely to squidge out, but if it does then it's easily cleaned off.

I’ve sealed two with a thin bead of sealant, as enuff_zed says its easier to apply to the metal on the boot lid (and wipe the excess off) than it is to apply to the light. Did the same when fitting an aftermarket rear light too even though it had a fresh gasket on it and as far as I can tell they’ve not leaked.
