Just driving to work this morning and the the yellow light bulb sign lit up my dash nicely... unfortuntely one of the main front lights has blown.

Was thinking of replacing both of them with Halfords Extreme Brilliance HBU711EB H11 Bulb meant to be 90% Brighter than standard at £24.99 as its buy one get one free at the mo.

Anyone have experience of using these?

Cheers

Have you not got Xenons on ur /M ? :?

Which one has gone, & are you out of warranty?

Funnily enough my mate rang me yesterday to tell me it was BOGOF at Halfords, & asked if I wanted any... I was like.. dude. No.

I do have Xenons.

It's the front ns dipped light that has gone and I didn't think it would be covered by warranty?

Andy's question was very perceptive. If you do have xenons then there's a few things to consider:

Firstly the Halford bulbs are halogens and have nothing to do with your main lights

it is unlikely that the bulb has gone as xenons shoudl last the lifetime of the car. If one does go, get ready for a big price shock unless oyu buy a cheapo off ebay.

If xenon it will be the dipped and main out 'as the change is by shutter. Of course the secondary inner halogen will also light up.

Start by confirming they are indeed xenon and that it's both the dipped and main position on the outer light not working.
Then think about swapping bits left to right to test, but beware of the extreme high voltages!!!
