Any of you guys using 18/19" PS2 heard about the replacement for the PS2?

It's called the Pilot Super Sport, and is supposed to trounce the PS2 in most areas by 20-50%.

Might be a tough call between the Continental 5P and the Pilot Super Sport now  (although still can't find any details on the Force Contact tyres I saw getting tested at the 'Ring)

ETA: they're supposed to retail for the same price as the PS2.

Read of them in a few websites but the hacks had been invited at Michelin's launch event in Dubai so the articles might be a bit biased.... They still should be pretty good though. Lets wait for more detailed tests.

Only seen the reviews and the 'performance' data myself, and it was the performance radar chart that made me think there was a good increase in performance.

Retail price is supposed to be the same or cheaper.

Blurb says 235/35 and 265/30 both available in 19 (for CSLs) and 225/45x18 for std fronts but no 255/40x18 for the rears. There is a 265 which is as near as makes practically no difference.

Wonder if the tread depth is the full 'normal' amount or if it's reduced as it was with the Cups?

DaveR thats the beaty of the ps3. cup like performance with a full Tread depth!! the pilot sport range is the only tyres that my cars see, fabulous!!

The Cup tyre with more 'weather friendly' tread is the Cup+ (wider channels & more sipes, but same tread depth).

Michelin and most tests claim the Pilot Sport 3 has better cornering & wet traction that the Pilot Sport PS2, but Michelin also say it is not intended as a replacement for the PS2 - but is supposed to be a interim tyre between the Exalto and the SuperSport. Michelin claim the SuperSport is the replacement for the PS2.

BTW, most Michelin Pilot Sport tyres don't even have 8mm to start with - according to their own tech specs they have between and 6.7mm & 7.5mm (8.5/32 to 9.5/32s). The Cups have 4.5mm (6/32).

 m5 sorry my above post mentioned ps3 i meant the SSP tyre.... im getting confused with all these codes. :driving:

I keep trying to get a friend of mine to lend me one of his 4 sets of spare CSLs & Cups, but he insists he needs them all, yet runs around 99% of the time on PS2s :headbang:
