Replacement Dashboard

Evening all,

I’m exploring all of my options, having taken out the sat Nav, and left with the ‘hole’. I’m planning to fabricate something to fill the gap, but as an alternative, I’m considering replacing the dash without a sat Nav hole.

Is this as simple as screw off and on, or is there likely to be coding for the airbags etc.?

‘05 if ages makes a difference.

Thanks,

Jamie.

I have a non-satnav dashboard here that I bought for the exact same reason, but I think I ultimately want to find a nav screen to fill my "hole" as it were. So that needs to find a new home, really.

If only you were closer!
But I'm with you at the moment. What my thoughts are currently is to remove radio & heating (already done) fit a nice CarPlay Double Din, and then convert the Sat Nav hole to a charging deck for phones/ storage.

Getting there..

Would be interested if there is a how to guide or you take some pics whilst you are doing it.

I've got the mad thought of getting a spare dash and flocking it...

I'd like to hear from somebody that has done it before, breaker or similar.
Can't see any videos on how to do it online...

This is a long shot and just a thought. As I don't have Satnav not sure if you remove it what is left? Is there a hole as indicated or can you keep the lid. So there is a empty space (hole) when open? If and a big if you can keep the Top cover. Can you make a mold some how and get someone to laser print a piece to put in? So you have a self to put stuff on when top is open? I know there are some who have posted on the site that do some laser stuff. Like I stated just a wild thought. Am sure there are some limitations I have not thought of but this just was a quick idea.
