Replacement Centre Console Options

Guys I need someones quick help here if possible. I've sourced a new centre console and have 2 options. My arm rest is knackered and its in a bit of a state so either of these would be an upgrade after a little polish, but can someone confirm the aux in / lighter socket situation?

option 1 is preferred (cup holders) but has a missing aux in and seemingly a missing lighter socket too.
option 2 is a definite 2nd choice and is here only to illustrate the difference.

could i do anything with my existing aux and lighter sockets if i settled on option 1? i use the socket as a usb adapter for a bluetooth link and dont want to lose it for obvious reasons.

apologies for any stupid questions, thanks for advice in advance as always.

If yours already has working aux/power then yes, just swap the parts into whatever replacement you buy. For what it's worth, I removed the phone cradle/cup holders from mine and replaced with just the one big storage tray.

Whats wrong with your own armrest?
If its wobbling around at the hinge side you should be able to fix it as the pins for the hinges seem to work their way out but can be pressed back in place and will only cost you time. It does require removing the console as access is from underneath.

that's great, thanks for the input Timmy. I'm going to keep the cup holders (massive bug bear not having any as standard) and will swap in the working aux and lighter socket when fitting.

its completely shafted from what i can tell. my car has previously been very 'un-loved' and not only is the hinge knackered but also the clip. thre arm rest and the back come away in your hand with the slightest pressure. also everything is a little more difficult without knowing what it was like as new. someone mentioned it should 'soft close' somewhere and I'm buggered if i know how that will work.

luckily having seen mine a friend recently purcahsed a much newer and well maintained E89 from a BMW dealer, I'll be spending some time working a few things out sooner or later. thanks for the help, i will try fixing / investigating before buying either anyway i think.

Gents - I want to remove the phone cradle to replace it with cup holders but I can’t seem to find any guidance to how you do it without making a dug’s breakfast out of it. Any tips/guidance videos you can point me to would be much appreciated.
