Hi all
After opinions of the following cars as a replacement for my wife’s e89
Please vote for one of the above, these are the only ones she’s interested in, strangely she’s only interested in the convertible in the z4 format
I’m interested in your views as obviously at the moment we can’t get to view any cars or text drive etc.
If you’ve had any of these or driven either I’d be interested in your views opinions
Thanks everyone

Not sure we are usually privvy to seeing how we vote but at least the right choice is out front :P

😂😂
I knew you would vote my wife’s current favourite 👍
Have you ever driven one of the new cayman?
I would have chosen a 997 but she wanted to go as new as possible for our budget and a newer version was just way out of budget sadly.

Would be the 3.0 v6 s
Sadly couldn’t justify the cost of the v8😕

Is the 2020 F Type available with a V6 :? thought they were dropping that option

We weren’t looking at that new for her budget, looking around 32-36k max

The Cayman 918 is such a great looking car no matter the criticism of being 4pot i f it was choice of the two cars even with the F type being a V6 i couldn't see me taking that over the Porsche .
I had a good nosy round the latest F type 5.0R a few weeks back & what can i say  it caught my eye 8) a lot of stimulation for the eyes but soon wandered away to look at the Sportbrake XF estates .

To be fair the M40i is a hell of lot of car now at £30k... 1-year-old and hardly any miles, it really looks like the best choice now. I like that it's rare on the roads and even the looks are winning me round. In the right colour combo, this is a cracking daily driver option to my mind.

I did not think I would be saying that 6 months ago

My thoughts exactly, for our top end budget your getting a nearly new car :o

It has the best tech, the best warranty, the best daily driver option.....ugly as sin, but so is Joachim Pheonix and I loved him in the Joker.

A key question is how would you be buying it, cash, pcp or hp...? This makes a big difference in the total cost of ownership, which is a key factor in these things.

Got to agree, the bmw isn’t the best looking thing, it does however offer a car in warranty though which could be a good thing.
I think she needs to test drive several different cars to get an idea.
It would be a cash sale, I don’t see any other benefits to purchasing?

If you put £32k cash into the car, then in 3 years time you'll likely get £18k for the BMW, £24k for the Cayman and £16k for the Jag.

I would go for the Z4 as best value for money and because I love convertibles. My concern would be depreciation, depending on how long you plan to keep it. Measured against depreciationI’ve I guess you would be able to buy a newer Z4 for your money compared to the Porsche or the Jaguar. I would be happy to own any of the three cars.

Sort of puts into perspective the loss in money paying cash, but the lease option I looked at also was around £600pm, agreed a new car but over 4 years you’ve nearly purchased one of the cars she’s looking at.
I just can’t get my head around leasing 🤷‍♂️.
Crazy money to lose though🙈

Take out the ‘I’ve’ on the second line and then it makes more sense. :headbang:
