Oooh, could be useful - good find and cheers for posting

BMW dealer - no use. They can't sell the bolts separately but happy to quote me for a new wheel LOL.

I also tried a specialist bolt supplier near me: he measured the bolt up and reported that they're a weird size, great. Approx 6.something mm diameter non-metric, i.e. he thinks they're an imperial size which are quite rare. They had nothing comparable diameter plus the thread pitch is rare too. This isn't going to be easy :(

I've filled out a contact message on BBS's website and awaiting a response.

Dont know if these would be any good

However just read the ad completely it states that no BBS Bolt sets are available for road wheels

Might be easier to find a junked wheel at scrapyard and get the bolts out of it.

Beat to my edit, I've just seen that

Well Done!

When i looked into finding bolts I dead-ended. But then i didn't go as far as emailing BBS. If they come back to you with the chance to buy a load, post up as I would defo want some to. :)

No response from BBS so far. Not holding my breath, no contact phone number in the UK on their website...

As said, quickest best way is to just buy a single off eBay. It won't cost THAT much, and you have a spare star and inner, and lots of spare bolts.

Dave

No chance am I buying a spare wheel! I'm skint :(

Would be the easiest solution I know, but seems overkill!

I've seen em go for £50 with a bit of damage... just very handy as a spares wheel imho.

I have my 107's, but I'd have bought a spare 108 by now were I keeping them. Ie, fixing a dink on the front wheel was £60, vs a spare for £50 with a centre and lots of spare bolts! No brainer really, imho, in the long run :)

Dave

Hmm, are the centre stars the same for front and rear 108s?

Obviously the rims are different widths but at least a spare wheel would give some spares that would fit front or rear...

a11y,

Have contacted a mate who works for BMW and asked him to make enquiries for a single bolt or a set of 20. Have also asked if he has any butchered 108s in the 'back yard' for minimal cash. I am currently in the UAE so if this is a 'go' will forward his e mail etc and you will have to do the rest. Will get back to you as soon as he gets back to me.

That would be excellent

I've got another company to call tomorrow who might be able to supply, they're only open office hours...

think CJ will confirm centres are different

The center stars look the same to me when i have seperated them. Not 100% but couldn't see any difference.

A supplier of these bolts would help everyone who is thinking of splitting their 108's as you never know when a rounded/lost bolt will ruin your day!

Yep, fingers crossed I'll find somewhere!

Two of my alloys came apart no probs, but the other two both had one bolt stuck in each. The first one I couldn't be bothered with so refurbed the rim with the centre star in place, not ideal but luckily that wheel was the least corroded so not a big issue. The second stuck bolt was on the worst wheel so that's the one I drilled out. Spliting the rims is an easy job unless you hit these difficulties! :D

Probably best to get the bit straight down on the heads, and then tap them all with a hammer to release the stress.

Go round and break the lock on all the bolts before then removing them...?!

How are others removing them?

I agree, it's a good idea to have bolts spare when doing any work on these, if you need to get the back together quickly that is :D

Yeah yeah I know LOL, I should've been more prepared :D

Possible source - my contact from BMW says this company may help - I think I have exhausted all my options. Best of luck!

 Nice one, I'll try them later.

I spoke to someone from PW Motorsport yesterday and sounded promising - they're an/the official importer for BBS stuff into the UK I think. I've emailed them some photos of the bolts (showing the scale) and hopefully they'll be able to supply some suitable bolts. If not, I'll try the link above.

And I'll report back again later LOL
