Replacement BMW Badges

Hey guys and girls, I am sure this has been covered millions of times but where is the best place to get replacement roundels..? I need them for the centre caps on the wheels (M alloys), and the covers on the indicators as they are both starting to look a bit weathered. Which I don't blame them after 6 years of being hot, cold, wet, dry, frozen, humid etc.

Any ideas..? BMW dealer my best bet or is there a more cost effective shop..? I don't want to go down the black / white route as I prefer the original blue / white. Plus the car is blue anyway do it matches :-)

Cheers,

Blackout

You can find them on fleabay, mixed quality. I've been recommended to get mine from Atul at Pukardesigns. I can get his email address if you want it or he's got a new website you could reach him on. Wheel caps are a special order and they're not on his website, but there have been a lot of recommendations

Hi Stuart. Do you have his email address. Website is flash based and ipad doesnt like it. In need of new centre caps too. Cheers.

I replaced the four on the wheels about two years ago and the BMW improved new design ones have started to delaminate already despite the car being garaged and hrdly used in the Winter. I'd buy from E bay next time as the BMW ones are still poo quality.

I got a set off eBay for £10 delivered. No issues with them yet, and if they do start to degrade over time, £10 is cheaper than one from BMW...

Hi,

just replaced all my roundels [email protected] after scanning this forum cant recommend enough.

Yup, used this guy for my c/f roundels. Knows exactly which bits fit what car, great quality, fast delivery, and if you get him to email PDFs of his brochures you'll have a hard time not simply handing him your wallet :D

Thinking of getting me a set from Ian!

Anybody based in London fancy giving me a hand getting the badges on, I not that much of a dab hand with the handy work! The bonnet badge worries me a bit with all this talk of filing it down etc!

Will bring the beers....

Thanks folks.

Have to agree, have them on the 1 series, just over a year old and starting to look tatty.

doc - if you order from Ian then for the bonnet it is worth paying £25 for the OEM-like one which is a) exactly the right size, b) needs no dremmeling and fits perfect, and c) has long enough lugs on the back that you can just secure it with the two old self threading nuts.

The boot one is easy - use something plastic and thin (some sort of thin wedge) to lever it out a bit then get some string behind to leaver out fully. Then push the new one in.

The side repeaters are the same size as the boot one, so get two of them, snip of and sand down the lugs, then stick on with 3M tape. He'll sell you OEM-like ones with locating holes too - but IIRC they are £25 each too, and I went cheap. You get the old ones off with a sharp knife, carefully cut through the gap and tape that is there. Just takes care. Oh, and don't stick one of the new ones on upside down like I did

Would offer to come help, but I won't be in London any time soon :(

Thanks Mr Bing, what about the steering wheel badge, did u just stick over the existing badge?

I have not changed mine. Problem (for me) is that the whole assembly is the airbag, and I decided not to try and lever the existing one out just in case I cocked it up. You can stick it on, but run the risk of getting it embedded in your face if the airbag is ever needed for real. I chose not to, I know that cj10jeeper has decided badge-in-forehead might not be such a bad look

Others have done it, perhaps they will advise

You can pick up a decal only job on eBay for the steering wheel, this is literally a sticker over the top of your existing badge.

Saves any nasty, 'permanently affiliated to BMW' looks in case you have an accident and bury it in your face... ;-)
