Replaced Water Pump

You have to undo the left side engine mount (UK passenger side, intake side of the engine) and jack it up, I left the nut just biting onto the mount thread and it was just enough space to wriggle the pump out, without any risk of the engine slipping and falling off the mounts.

Ok, I had a look just now and I know that this is the way of doing it but I don't undestang, how you make space for the water pump to take it off by jacking the engine?
If you jack the engine it will go up and this is the view from the top:

If you only loosen off one mount bolt and jack the engine, it will tip slightly as the other mount is still holding it. It only needs a little bit to wriggle it out

Since you are draining the coolant you may want to replace the upper and lower rad hoses at the same time. Pretty inexpensive. Good luck.

Indeed, I did the full whack as I figured it would all fail at some point, so new rad hoses, pump, thermostat and expansion tank. Rad is a 2013 build from the stickers so need replaced before. I believe the expansion tank had been too, but with no record and them being known for sudden failure at the age of the car I felt it safer to just replace anyway with a genuine Hella part
