My 2004 3.0 Z4 Business cd player (don't have a changer) stops playing after track 6 for any cd and displays a "cd error" message. I plays fine for the first few tracks. Is it time to replace my cd player? Can I just buy one from eBay to replace it? Is there any technical problem that I should know? I've never done anything like that myself. What are your suggestions? Maybe something better from the aftermarket? I called BMW and they want $1,080 to replace it.
