Think this the place that is run buy a guy that worked with my mate a Tech for BMW Stephen James if it is he knows his stuff according to my mate who looks after my Z between BMW inspections and has been looking after my families cars for over 10 years and he rates this fella

Nope, I was never selling up. Must have me mixed up with someone else. If this thing keeps running I'll be driving the same car in 5 years. 
Looks like I finally found a decent independent in the London area. Crago in Dartford just had my car for a few days for a new roof motor and two new headlamp washer jets fitted. About £750 all in and just about what they had estimated. After the cost if parts I thinks this is reasonable.

Service good too. Receptionist clued up on what was going on with my car and phoned me about price of headlamp wash pumps before ordering them. Another thing, no silly diagnostics charge. And the guy who actually did the roof motor bit had done about three of them last summer so knows the whole issue about clearing out the drain holes.
Crago in Dartford recently did some work on my car and I think they know what they are doing :? They are not very friendly and chatty but my Z4 has not missed a beat since they had it. They could communicate better...
Seeing as I'd just bought the Zed, I asked for a full inspection and they picked out the same issues that BMW in Battersea had identified.
I've already booked my baby Zed for more TLC by these guys end of this month.

ETA Motorsport in West Kingsdown (just round the corner from Dartford) is an excellent BMW Indi. I have used them for years and their service has always been top notch and their prices are very reasonable.
A few guys on here have used them and all speak very highly about the quality of work and price
