Hi

I have a 3.0 auto E86 coupe and I have leaking sump and crank shaft seal.

I have been quoted £720 to get this done, I understand there is a lot of work involved, just want to make sure this is a fair price. They have been good to me before but just want make sure the labour of nearly £500 seems about right for this job.

Remove and replace rear main seal and sump gasket:
Sump Gasket £25
Shaft seal £23.59
Dip stick o-ring £3.60
Level sensor o-ring £ 3.43
Oil Filter £9.50
Oil £45.50
Labour £490
Total = £600.62
Vat at 20% = £720
 
I assume the gearbox is going to have to come out to do the rear crank seal so there is going to be a lot of labour - where is the quote from (main dealer, indy etc?) and do you know how many hours labour this allows?
