Repair & Maintenance Annual Budget 3.0si

Expect your Y1 budget to be quite high because you’ll be replacing lots of bits that this place will recommend should be changed due to age...

Y2 budget will be even higher, because you’ll want new alloys... with different tyre sizes & other goodies such as suspension upgrades

Y3 will be higher still as you may then change to an M

Lol...

This sounds eerily resonant with my course... and I've just entered Y3

Unfortunately an M is out of reach in current circumstances, alas the chain is broken!

Owned my 2008 3.0si for coming up to 4 years and until recently all costs were routine - annual servicing (£200 - £400) and the expected wear and tear cost like tyres (£130 a corner), brake, filters.
Last month the handbrake needed replacing and the self-levelling headlight motors failed, we're talking hundreds on those. Thing is, its my daily drive and 11 years old so again, these one off big bills are all part of the ware and tear and are likely to go up as the car ages. It was on 34k when I bought it and now on 78k so I'm covering around 11,000 miles a year.
