Hi all,

I have managed to scrape the lower right fang over a curb last week and i want to get this resolved as the rest of the car is in A1 ++ condition.

Understand its minor but i try to keep this car near to perfect condition.

I assume many on here have had the same issue, any advice for me please!

I need the same fang doing on mine. I’m actually considering a smart repair for the fang, as the rest of the bumper is fine. There’s an easy line for them To mask from also, making the repair tiny.

So the end 'black bit' is sheered down, would the smart repair remake the point? seems it needs some sort of structural work albeit tiny.

They’d just rub it down, and then use a bit of filler (various types for the purpose) to bulk, then rub into shape and finish. Just as they would to repair a dent in a panel that can’t be worked out.

Contact lynchy, if you aren’t too far from dartford area. From memory you are Kent/Essex based. Lynchy has the imola ///Mr you saw at beaulieu and is a smart repairer.

Thanks Tom

Personally I'd touch it up, live with it until you've done more miles (more stone chips) then get the entire bumper done properly.

You can always see smart repairs.

I'd agree...rub it down, add some filler, rub it down, add some primer, rub it down, add the paint(mixed with clear coat), rub that down and you'll be almost there.

Or, speak with a body shop and see what price they can do for a bumper. They will be very short of work right now so you might well get a bargain price.

surely someone would need to be on their hands and knees to see a smart repair down there? You just need it 95% of the way there and you'll never even notice as it'll reflect the ground down there anyway when you look at it

No point having a near perfect car as the OP has said and then bodging it, everyone has different standards though

If it is item 6 in the picture that has broken as well they are not cheap

Fix the blemishes, put fang protectors on, done!

That looks so nicely finished. Are you not tempted for all black grills? Is that a custom splitter in the centre?

Those protectors look neat, where are they from? I've seen some that stick out a bit like a lip, but I prefer the flush ones.

+1

I think I would go with this looking where it is.

I had front and back bumpers resprayed last year. Probably done less than 2k miles since then and there are already a few little scratches on the fang that side that bug me when I'm cleaning the car. But the rest of the time no one will ever notice them.

Never been! :) I'm the "factory" sort of fella.
Thanx! It's custom yes, and rubber much like later 911's. Actually more of a spoiler than a splitter. Handy with speedbumps. Totally settles the front end on Autobahn, just baffled by it.

Thanx, agree! They are too custom, not hard to replicate tho:

“Fang protectors”? I’m very interested in finding out more about this, as I plan to have my front bumper refurbished at the end of this season [ref]Argenta[/ref] 🙃
