Renovo roof

How easy is this to use? Now I’m not busy I’m doing some car cleaning. I already have a full autoglym kit so I’m guessing I could use the roof reviver dye stuff after I’ve cleaned the roof but before I waterproof it

It's very easy to use, just cover body work and glass before use to reduce the amount of clean up and brush it on, let it dry and then use the waterproofer. the waterproofer isn't required due to the layering of the roof materials unless you want that water beading off look. It does tend to make the roof material feel a teeny tiny bit stiffer though, which I'm told can lead to wear patches/ holes in the roof. I had some of these when I picked the car up (5 years ago) I'm not sure whether Renovo played a contributing factor, I have used it to good effect and the holes don't appear to have gotten any worse.

Other people on here seem to swear by liquid shoe polish and it's cheaper.

Liquid shoe polish I guess I can see why a bit of kiwi :D will do it. But surely you’ll need a fair few of those little tubs with the sponge on the end!!

Sound like it’s got fuckup written all over it for me

I use fabsil, it is intended for tents and doesn't stiffen the roof and beads superbly. No worries about creating holes in the roof unlike renovo.
2.5 lites will easily do the roof twice.

:D that sounds like pretty much any job i ever start.

you mix it 50/50 with the protector, you can get a 3 pack for about £4. The Method is the same as the renovo: you put it in a container and brush it on. There are quite a few posts showing how effective it is on her: this was linked recently. https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=106330&p=1544845&hilit=roof+dye#p1544845

Cheers .... been cleaning the mrs focus today so only checking in. One +side to being stuck at home I guess ... I’ll give those posts a look. I’ve got a whole new autoglym kit but decided that to start with I’d just wash the roof cost it was proper green around the rear bulk head rubber so used a reasonable to weak mix of valet pro citrus pre wash and just went over it a load of times knowing I’ll do a clean and rep roof this week. The roof is cleaner but is also showing how it’s faded in places

Sounds an option tomix the proofed with black shoe polish with the proofer. I’ll give it a look
