Remus Exhaust

Hi people

I have been doing a bit of research around replacing the back box to create a nicer sound. What i'm looking for is something that sounds deeper but not too loud also dont want it to drone. Has anyone got experience of a remus back box on their Zed? They seem to fit the bill, also looking at miltek. Does anyone have any thought or experience of changing the back box and results?

I don't have any experience of hearing the exhausts you mentioned but I will say that the Remus looks too aftermarket for my tastes - I don't like the chunky detailing on the tailpipes. The Miltek looks like a slightly beefier version of the OEM so would definitely be my choice.
 
Can you still get the Milltek? I thought they had discontinued them (still advertised though I think).
 
Ah OK.

GWatson had the Milltek but he took it off almost straight away due to droning (some threads on here I think). Dario on the other hand has one and loves it.

Yeah I heard the miltek may drone. The Remus is supposed to be a bit more restrained, but not as nice style wise. Oh decisions decisions.
 
I Have had the Remus and it does drone.....

i have the miltek full system and it drones at low revs in a high gear..... but when she is on full chat its beautiful!

that does indeed sound nice!!
i wouldnt mind upgrading the system on mine...when i can afford to..
but..as i have a 2.0...do u guys see a point? i dont want it to be "boy racer" so should i just wait till im older and have an engine worth spending money on..?

Thanks thats great :thumbsup: As you have had both which do you prefer? and is the drone hard to live with or is it fine?
 
I'm really leaning towards getting the Eisenmann exhaust.

What I want to know is the price difference (UK pounds) between Remus and Eisenmann....
On that note, anyone have an Eisenmann system I can hear in person (i've seen/heard vids)
 
Hmm, that doesn't look like its from the engine back.....Or am I misunderstanding the english to english dictionary?
No matter what I decide on between Remis or Eisenmann I want a full exhaust system. No just a cat back. Straight from the engine back.

It's ok. I've done the cat back on US vehicles and have gotten just the sound. Now that I have a performance car I want more than just sound even if it is overall just a little increase in power.



I like the vids Rick, if anything it helps me lean towards eins...however I'm a big in person fella when it comes to sound. At bimmerfest in uh santa barbara (california at least) I did get to hear a Remus exhaust on a 3.0i coupe, so I know and like how it sounded. Now I just have to hear an Eins to judge which one I want.

which do i prefer?

the Miltek system. fully stainless steel construction, at full chat its has a wonderful howl. all that have heard it on road or on track marvel at it aural beauty.

the old Remus with the big outlet pipes with the series of drilling's on the outlet pipes didn't look right! as for sound, it rumbled and set of car alarms.

i know G Watson didn't like his, but mine is not an every day drive...... and i'm 50 ish :D
 
in the rick hunter video, the remus sounded the best imo. but of course, that is from the outside with no load

perhaps sounds much different when driving

That's an excelent quality of video - sorry for the thread hijack, but what exact camera/recording device is that? I saw a title at the start but wasn't sure exactly what it was...

(guessing the passenger wasn't enjoying all of that drive lol)
