Has anyone had any experience with the Remus cat back stainless exhaust?

opinions on Sound? performance? looks?

x2 I've been looking into getting a Remus, best price I've found at http://www.larkspeed.com/index.pl?a=i&k=s&p=REMUS168

IMHO Thats a lot of money for what will no doubt be a change in sound. The 'Impressive Power Gains' will likely, at best, be a handful of hp that you never even feel. The biggest concern with any exhaust changes is the god awful 'drone' that creeps in at steady speeds. Sound outside is great, droning inside drives you crazy after a while.

I'm not especially looking for any power gains ( but another 50 bhp would be nice) but more to release some of the sweet sound of the six cylinder engine, which always puts a smile on my face.

Driving through tunnels works for me :D

I had an HKS super drager exhaust & a pipercross induction kit on my old (BMW) Mini Cooper.
it sounded fab, especially the induction roar. Appreciate there are only likely to be a handful of ponies available... just pondering.

What induction systems are around?

With roof down. My missus hates me doin that and dropping from third to second and stepping on the gas. I also do same at charing cross cut off going Eastbound great echoes from that tunnel across from Hilton :driving:

Supersprint are currently developing a cat back system for the 23is & I think for the newer 2.0 turbo cars as well.
Go on to their website & click their icon for facebook & you'll see some pictures of them geting started with it.
I have been in constant e mail contact with Alessandro at Supersprint over the last six months waiting on him confirming they were going to do a system for the 23is model & it's taken ages for them to get going with it.
Anyway, he has said only yesterday that there will be no real power or torque gains with a cat back system but that the sound would be deeper than standard exhaust & as yet no idea of prices.
They are also going to be doing a manifold & sports cat but only for the left hand drive models as apparently the steering column on rhd is in the way.

Just remove your secondary CATs and run straight pipe :) Might fail your MOT without them, but you could always put them back on come MOT time. Thats asuming 23i has primary and secondary CATs?

robbo32 I see you've got the K&N panel filter fitted, do you find any benefits? i.e.sound, power, fuel consumption etc.
Also if you get any more info on the Supersprint system could you post on here or PM me. Thanks

23is? Is that a new model? :) You mean 23i (sDrive)... the only 'is' is the 35is...

Whats wrong with the stock exhaust? as it sounds just right to me. I've also found BMWs stock exhausts to be well made and last well. The Z3 is still on its original at 11 years with no rust.

My experience of aftermarket exhausts are, they hardly ever fit properly, had a nightmare with an Eisenmann in past times, won't add anything performance wise, unless combined with a remap and tend to drone.

Tim.
