Might be best going through JE if you are trying to use them, he seems to have the 'knack' of dealing with MStyle
markos said:pHilli0, I have REMUS back boxes on mine which I'm really happy with. Not a million miles from you down towards Enfield Town if you want a listen. They add a deeper note from idle and shout a bit louder than normal as you open it up... When I hear the car driven by others I'm always amazed how good it sounds from outside!![]()
markos said:No probs, let me know! It's really hard choosing an exhaust as no video ever really captures what they sound like...
I bought mine 2nd hand from the forum 3-4 years back so can't help on sorcing them new I'm afraid.
IIRC the differences I noticed when I first put them on was a much nicer and deeper note on idle, and when pushing it it just growls louder than before, in a tunnel it's a lot of fun 8) It's all subjective but I also thought the changes were relatively subtle, initially I was maybe expecting a bit more but I feel these are absolutely right for me, they're not lairy or boy racery, they're just a nice boost to what I thought was quite a muted exhaust note with the originals.
In terms of drone there is a slight drone around 2.2k rpm until about 2.4k (think it's those RPMs) but it's not terrible by any means and these backboxes are so much better than the originals in my opinion, which just didn't do the car any justice for me.

£740 inc VAT seems like the cheapest price I can find. Does anyone have any views on http://www.mstyle.co.uk?
BMWZ4MC said:They're the same as mine. I bought mine second hand from the forum too (for half this amount). They were barely used when I got them and they've since developed a much richer tone after getting really hot over many track days. I don't get any drone from mine, certainly nothing intrusive, but it may be that I can't hear the drone over my aFe intake. The combination sound best when really hot. I'm also always really pleased when I hear the car from outside.
I actually almost bought an RPI system before I got these. I'm glad I didn't having heard how awful they can drone at motorway cruising speeds.

Yea they do sound on paper like the perfect solution. The drone around 2.2 to 2.4 should't bother me. That's the reason I want to move away from the OEM, cos I like the metalic rasp but its all a bit ... subdued...My M is currently in an Indy having some work done including Schrick 280s & DLC followers, Eventuri Intake fitted and then its off to Evolve mid June for a custom map. I wasn't planning on spending $$$ on cams but mine started to tick in a very ill way so had no choice but to replace them.
Do you track much?
