Hi,
Can anyone tell me if it is possible to remove the stereo front? I want to fit an intravee but having had the BMW ipod adaptor fitted (which is rubbish) I need to reconnect the CD changer adaptor to the back of the stereo. Also does anyone know where the connector is that would plug into the changer if I had one fitted as I don't seem to ba able to locate it and need to connect the intravee to it.

Any help much appreciated.

You need to remove the air vent first before you can remove the head unit, do a search for air vent removal there is a fair bit of info as it can be a bugger to remove. I would imagine the CD changer cable is already connected ot the back of the head unit, its one of the small plugs that fits into the big plug on the back of the unit.

Easy peasy (only took me 4 days and my sanity)...but you must use the B, F and C words in various combinations to be able to get it out. If you can use them all in the same sentence, it will just pop out.

It's as easy as this to remove the head unit.........

Ok , so I managed to remove the vents and stereo but I now need to re-wire the cable loom back to how it should be originally. Does anyone know how to remove and re-insert the pins on the connectors in the back of the head unt?

2 years

The little pins you push out with a small screwdriver. It has a little shark fin you have to push in and then you can just pull it out.

Inserting is just push in and it clicks in place.

Does anyone know where I can get a pin removal tool from, have tried other methods but with no joy.

Don't worry about a specialist tool. A watchmakers screwdriver, of the sized used for glasses will do just fine. Boots sells a little glasses maintenance kit with a cloth, spray and a screwdriver that would work.

Or cheap method, use a needle
