Removing the front grill

The ones I bought weren't painted. Looked more like the smoked spray you use on tail lights.

Hi Everyone.

I have been trying to remove the grilles on my E86. Im doing the upward force with outward pull.
They just dont want to budge. Im afraid any more stress and Ill snap the plastic. Literally cutting into my fingers.
I watch videos on YT and the grilles just pop out. What is the secret technique here?

Anyone else having issues?

Probably got a bit seized as the car is a bit more, uh, mature now

Push in and out so that the dirt dislodges whilst keeping the pressure to point a bit upwards

As you lift the grill upwards, try pulling the bottom edge outwards & it should release.

It is possible that you have aftermarket grilles that don’t fit quite right and are jammed, or someone has glued them in. All the grilles I have pulled have come out easy using the technique mentioned by [ref]Smartbear[/ref] above.
