removing the aerial

i feel ridiculous admitting this, but i cant get the aerial off my car to fit a new stubby. i know it should just unscrew, but it won't. i obviously dont want to force it too much and shear the screw.

anybody? the car is a march 2012 msport sdrive 28i, if that's relevant.

Yepp mines the same March 12 build. Bar a pair pliars and a cloth I can't see what else you can do.

Had this on my e85,a week or so of spraying wd40 did it in the end
