Removing Soft Top - Help needed removing weather seal.

Hi,

I'm in the process of trying to replace my roof motor, and following shipkillers instructions. However I am stuck on step 5, removing the weather seal from the body of the car. I can't get the seal off, I have tried pulling and prying out with fingers and a flat screw driver but its not budging and I don't want the damage the top or bodywork.

If anyone has done the soft top removal procedure, how did you remove the seal when doing yours? Any tips would be appreciated.

I have NOT removed my hood personally but watched some of it being fitted by a pro.

Could it maybe be that some part of the weather strip has been superglued in place at some stage - in which case it will be difficult to remove without glue remover ? Alternatively try heating it with a hairdryer to make it more pliable.

Maybe a picture of the section you refer to might ensure we're talking about the same thing ! So sorry if I've wandered off at a tangent.

Update: Finally got the seal off, Since my roof can't be closed fully, (even manually) I had to get someone to push the roof open as much as possible whilst I went round undoing the seal. It was still very tight but got it done carefully.
