Removing Front Bumper Side 'Clips'

Hi guys,

I have followed the front bumper removal thread http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=1071

I have removed all of the screws on the bottom, top and side of the bumper, but when it comes time to "Pull off the sides of the bumper where it meets the fender. You may have to give it some force, but after some firm pulls and it should eventually pop off" I feel as though I am going to snap the bumper. I am pulling hard but the front bumper in not moving.

The tutorial shows an older version of the z4, I have the 06si which has clear reflectors on the side near the top of the bumper. Are there any extra screw that hold this in place? I am trying to install the angel headlights (and put a front splitter on), but this has all come to a halt until I can get this front bumper off. Everyone else seems to be able to remove it quite easily.

There are no other bolts or press studs to remove

The fitting should be the same whether it be a se or si

You just need to grip the bumper around the wheel arch and detach each side, then pull the front of the bumper away from the car

Am I gripping the bumper and pulling down? or pulling out?

Also, Ranski, I notice you have installed Angel headlights (which is what I am about to do)... Did you install them yourself?

Pull the side of the bumper towards you

Yes, I installed myself using the how to guide

You have to get your hand between the bumper and the inner arch liner. I found that but tricky too :(

I found sticking my arms through the mud splash/ guard to get to a finger to the clip helps to ease it off.

I will give it another try tomorrow. Hopefully I can get it off this time.

Where is this how-to-guide for installing the new headlight housings? I can only see guides for installing new bulbs. Apparently Xenon headlights carry enough charge to kill (if handled incorrectly)... so i'm a little worried about doing the lights on my own :?
