Removing dice mediabridge

Hello

Sorry if this isn't in the right forum - have posted in the audio section but hoping to get an answer here due to wider audience.

My car came with a dice mediabridge 1500 fitted from previous owner. It is a 2007 m coupe with dsp (no CD changer). The mediabridge box is located in a reccess under the steering wheel column.

I want to remove the mediabridge as I have an android phone and want to use the factory Bluetooth.

I'd be greatful for any advice on removing the mediabridge and getting things back to stock. I am unsure if I just need to disconnect the mediabrisge and harness to the radio. Does anything need to be reconnected (I.e steering wheel controls)? I'm reluctant to remove it and be left with a half working stock system. It's difficult to see where the wires go from the mediabridge!

Any help appreciated!

It should be connected to a cable that runs into the boot. As that's where the cables for the cd changer (and how the media bridge is connected) are. You'll need to pull up the carpet in the boot, it's held in place by several plastic bolts. It's fiddly but not impossible. Steering controls will work just as normal once removed.

If you do remove I may buy it off you too

IIRC the MFSW controls link to the headunit, and the headunit links to the bluetooth through a connection block on the rear of the headunit. So if someone has disconnected the bluetooth unit I expect they have only disconnected the block. However, are you sure you have the factory bluetooth? The unit is normally stored on the boot bulkhead behind the carpet - mine is on the left hand side as you look in the boot. You may not have the unit as all the fittings are standard (the button in the centre console, for example, does not mean you have the bluetooth unit)

Thanks for the replies. I have got the factory Bluetooth working and the factory aux. Was hopping removing the mediabridge wasn't too involved! I'm away at the moment but will get started removing it when I'm back.

Have had a fair few inquiries regarding selling the mediabrisge once it's out. I'll post up a formal advert once it's out and sell to those who have messaged (in the order I received them)

Thanks again
