Removing dealers stickers?

Anyone know the best way to remove the advert stickers the car sales places insist on putting on the rear window.

Had a look and I think it'll make a mess if I try to simply peel...it'll fall apart and look terrible...white spirit or something?

Thanks

Jon

I have to do this as well. The Zed doesn't exactly have the best visibility out the rear window without the dealer putting a 2 inch wide sticker across the top of it!! :x

I was thinking a bit of alcohol or probably just some Autoglym glass cleaner will probably take off whatever's left after peeling the majority off?

Removed a few of these, just take it easy and you should be ok or you can use a hairdryer just to add a bit of heat to soften the glue and again peel it off slowly.
Always the first thing i do once i picked up the car

Bit of heat should help.

Word of caution try not to kneel on the seats when removing, it has been known to bugger the seat occupancy sensor. (Driver side OK as there isn't one).

easy just ask the dealer if he will pay you for advertizing there name,it will be your car and you can sell the space!!!! :)

My car, which was 5 years old, when I brought it had one of these dealers stickers on the rear windscreen. It had been put on crooked to make matters worse. :x I was able to remove it in one piece although I can still see an outline when it's misty so will try to clean with some glass cleaner in better weather.

Remove the sticker with a thin paint scraper blade (not sure about the English), but carefully so as not to scratch the glass. Then remove the residue with benzene/benzyne (again, not sure about the English). Be careful though, as benzene is both poisonous and carcinogenic.
Benzene also removes tar spots very well.

My Z is still under BMW Motorplan (a 5-year service plan that comes standard with all new BMW's over here) so has to go to the stealer for all maintenance. I threatened the service manager with bodily harm, should I ever find one of their stickers on my car when I get it back.

Don't know if you have it over there, but I have used GOO-GONE before to remove sticker glue, (you can do a search on line for that). I have also used WD-40 to remove glue. Hope this helps. :)

WD40, the thing that does everything.

There's a website that lists 1,000 uses for it 8)
