Removing Dashboard?

Hello All,

Does anyone have any insight into how I can remove the dashboard?

The leather on the dashboard and drivers door has wrinkled and pulled off. I can get them recovered relatively inexpensively but removing the dash first would save alot of time and money.

I don't have a haynes manual for this car. Anyone have one?

Unfortunately Haynes don't make a manual for the E89 (I know I've spent ages looking) .

There are online manuals around, but I don't want to recommend any as I can't verify the sellers. There are plenty here though who may be able to direct you to a reputable online seller

Though its worth watching both. Different camera angles and all that. When I did this the only real issue I had was pulling the large dash piece out. There were some screws I didnt get at first, and it also does take some force. Its hard to know which it is... fortunately I broke nothing, lol. The screws in the glove box area are the worst, because its unclear which you need to remove and which you dont. Mostly all the same screw, but there were 1 or 2 that were unique so keep your eyes open for that and keep those straight.

Oh I just remembered the biggest surprise with that big trim piece. There was an extra screw for me by the start/stop button. The videos are both (I think, def the brittish one) pre-facelift interiors with a hole for the key and the trim was done a bit different in that regard.

Thank you for the links. I got all excited seeing you had found videos, but unfortunately those are trim removal videos.

I need to remove the entire dashboard. I.e. take it down to the firewall. The dash top leather pulled away from the demister vents and its either remove the glass or remove the dash. I suspect its easier for the leather man to work with the dash out, but its vastly easier to have a glass man remove the front windscreen.
