Removing clearcoat overspray from wheels.

The Z4 actually belongs to my better half but I'm generally the one tasked to solve issues with it.

The issue we have is that at least two of the wheels have had some kind of smart repair prior to us buying it, which to be fair, look good on the outside. However, the repairs seem to have been done with the wheels still on the car and they've only cleaned the bits of the inner they could see before respraying them. As such there's dirty wheels that have now been clearcoated over.

Any suggestions on how to remove the clearcoat so that I can get to the dirt underneath?

Hope that all makes sense.

This seems to be the 'norm' these days. It's a sad state of affairs where people are happy to accept shocking service like this.

I suppose you could just let brake dust do it's job and leave the barrels dirty. Or I guess you could paint the insides black?

My wheels have shadow chrome faces with black barrels/insides. I had them done like this so the brake dust wouldn't show up as much
