Removing Centre Console

Please tell me I do not have to do all this just to remove my centre console to wrap my trim???:-

Does the REAR console have to be removed? It looks a little drastic as you have to fiddle with the manual overide clips, etc!

I cant believe that most of the car needs to be taken out to do the job.
