Removing Center Panel

Hi, can anyone inform me on how to remove the centre panel that i have highlighted in red below (and no... i am not planning on getting it painted red )... thanks in advance...

Just pull out the leather gear selector gaitor (tabs on sides) and IIRC you can then release the bit of trim you want to remove.

Sorry, but how do you pull out the leather gear selector... i hate approaching something like this without fully understanding what i need to clips off / pull / press etc as they can break / rip / crack so easily, thanks in advance for your help on this one srhutch... any luck with the sale of your Z4 yet... looks immaculate...
