Next job replacing the boot badge on e86.

I have been looking genuine 82mm badges but non specially for e86 boot.

The genuine ones appear to have 2 grommets to hold in place, can anyone share process of replacing badge ?
Some Things I’ve read has not been clear saying as on coupe as badge part of mechanism for boot the badge it’s self can’t be changed but surely not ?

I don’t want to buy one of these 82mm badges and find won’t do the job..

Another good to have would be knowledge of the chrome Housing around the badge it’s not too bad but would be nice if that was an easy replace as well if any one got knowledge on that ? DC12769C-2B13-4D7B-966C-E5F93C341279.jpeg

All you can do is try the usual method of using a hairdryer to heat up the badge and then get some dental floss to cut through the double sided tape or use a plastic pry tool. That usually works.

I've just replaced mine and it was a 5 minute job.

The badge is supplied with an adhesive foam backing ring.

Your old one should just pull off and as above you may have to heat it up and use some floss to get it moving. I didn't with mine.

I cleaned the backing plate and made sure it was free from grease. The locating pins means you cannot get it wrong.

The only downside was the badge cost me £40!
