Remove seat belts

Hi All,

Has anyone got any idea where the actual seat belt unit are located? Id like to change my seat belts but can find where and how to get to them,

Hi mate, yes I went to follow this one but where the battery tray is is different, which is annoying! So I guess they are mounted in a different place?

Oh, sorry about that mate. I’ve not done mine yet and just assumed they’d be much the same. I’ll do some more digging and let you know if I find anything.

Davros - I read somewhere recently that cleaning the seat belt material, allowing it to dry then spraying with hair spray can sort retraction problems. Not tried it myself so might be nonsense but my van seat belts are getting lazy so thought I'd try this. Nothing lost if it doesn't work apart from my wife's hairspray.

Cheers mate , I’ve not had a chance to try the polish / hairspray trick yet but reckon I’ll still need to remove my passenger seat belt as it takes years to retract

I’ve had another look at the Pelican Parts guide and don’t think the battery box on the Z4m should make much difference as the seat belts should still be in the same location on the rear bulk head. It should be a bit easier removing the carpet cover though, as there is no battery box to remove.

I know this is a picture of a Z4C, but it looks like the seat belt mechanism are located just below the seat belt exit guide each side of the rear bulk head. I’m sure they must be located in the same location on the roadster....
