Remove rear trim and rear centre console

I have an annoying noise whereby when I turn one way i.e. left, something behind me (I think on the passenger side) is moving to one side and then when I turn the other way it moves again. It's as though there's a little metal ball trapped in the rear panel and so is constantly moving when I go one way and the other (it doesn't sound like a ball, more something that's swinging over from left to right - so hard to explain the noise).

Anyway, just wondering how hard it is to get in behind those rear panels. I have the 10 speaker system if that means anything.

Any ideas?

I had the same problem when I first got my car... drove me mad...to the point where I was going to take it back to the BM dealer. Eventually BMW agreed to strip it and found a Michael Jackson CD rolling around in there. :o

Sorry can't tell u how difficult it is to strip the panels though. You get those thin magnetic poles, maybe try poking around with that before stripping the panels

Perfect. Thanks for this. Might wait until the warmer months. Looks like it could be a long job!
