remove battery for winter?

hello!
if I remove my battery for about 5 months on my e85 some problems can appear when mounted back? anyone did that in winter?

I thought that if you disconnect the battery for an extended time the car goes into hibernation mode ? No idea exactly what happens, just seen it mentioned a few times. Generally people seemed unhappy about it ?

Also, if it's not charging at all won't the battery eventually go flat ?

I agree and if you do remove the battery it should still be on a trickle charger so there is really no reason to remove the battery...
 
how long till this hibernation mode thing kicks in? how long can you leave it before the battery drains?

i wouldn't be able to put mine onto a conditioner (not a trickle charger) without trailing an 50m extension out of the window, across the garden and over the car park. i was thnking of one of these
