Remote roof operation, opportunity denied

I'm heading up to Yorkshire this evening and was going to swing by Autologic in Hessle tomorrow morning to have my key reprogrammed for the remote roof operation. After hearing all the great comments about the company on here I was well up for it, but I just called them today and they have nobody in the shop tomorrow who can run the software, dammit!! :( :x
...my folks, bro and a few friends live not too far from there, so no doubt I'll be back up again soon - hopefully there'll be someone around next time I'm in the area...

...anyone know of anywhere in Hertfordshire or Bedfordshire that can carry out this key mod?

Run the software ?......for mine they just plugged in what looked like a 'fisher price' computer, selected options from the on screen list, then job done.

I t took all of 2 minutes, i am suprised at their response given my dealings with them in the past, and how good they are.

hope you get it sorted mate.

easty is completely right. I had this feature turned on today and it is just a touch screen simple thing to do. I went through all the options available with the guy its mega easy!!

I also had the indicators when unlocking turned on, auto lock of doors, and changed the speed auto lock comes on. All cost £20 :)

I also had the audiable beep added when locking, which is great because i never know if i have locked it when i walk away, and yes all for the sum of £20 :)

I definitely want to get all these options sorted. I'm sat about 20 miles away from Hessle at the moment and hopefully will get this sorted on my next visit up here...
Would swing by anyway on the off-chance, but heading elsewhere now. Denied, but only temporary...

It is well worth a visit, i think the guy that owns it has a Z4 M// roadster, well worth having a chat with him. Also tell him how much i have bigged him up and the company, might get some discount next time im there. :P

Is this quite a common procedure? I'd like to add a few functions myself. I'm on the south coast near Brighton, anyone know of any places near there or would my local BMW dealer do it? (Although i'm guessing much more ££££)
Looking at my key there are 3 buttons, door lock... door unlock... boot release. Which button is used for the roof? Would it be possible to choose which buttons activate different options? I'd like the roof to operate on holding down the unlock key I suppose. Then maybe window closure on lock. Possible? Chirp sounds like a good plan too, i also suffer from "return to car in Tescos car park to check" syndrome.

That's how mine works alredy..

I assume the car needs to be setup with the appropriate module already for remote roof operation?

Mine is a 2003 53 model and i didnt need the reinhold roof module, from what i can remember, somebody posted a more detailed description of why Autologic could do it, and a BMW Stealership couldnt ?.......they may be others out there that can do though ?......

I had it re-programmed by at independant, he also programmed the key to remotely open and close the roof..

Whereabouts is the independant? I'm betting they're not in the South East :(

There is one in Southampton capable of doing it if thats of any use?

The roof down is open button and up the close button. You can also turn on/off the easy entry option when you press open twice. The lights on unlock and lock is a good one and the additional sound.

I would have thought any BMW dealer would do it for you.

You need to read some of the older threads, its not that simple apparently.
