Remote roof...not quite.

Hello

I am having a hard-time figuring this one out:

I can fold the roof down from the key-button, but I cannot fold it back up using the same method. Only way is if I turn the key in the door-lock and hold it in position until it closes. WTF? :headbang:

It's working exactly as BMW intended.

Comfort Opening (as BMW call it) is available remotely, but - presumably on safety grounds - Comfort Closing is only available from the key.

This can be over-ridden using NCS Expert, or with a third party module such as the Gap-Tech.

...damn it.

I hope I'll find someone near me that has one of these, I don't think I can do it myself, can I?

Of course you can, just buy the module and fit it in a few minutes

GapTech allows remote open / close and one touch open / close from inside as well.

I know I'm being a pain :) ...but if these options can be made available with NCS, what's the point in buying a module?

It is different. With coding, you have to keep the key pressed and the operation will halt halfway when there is either interference or you have moved.

The GapTech is just a few clicks, then it starts and you walk away and it does it all.

ooh. I understand....nice!:)

Will you post to Romania? How much will shipping be? Is PayPal ok for making payment?

Nothing to do with me :)

Best post in the thread I linked to ...

I'm sure Gary will. All the info is on the Remote thread including how to pay using PayPal and international shipping cost. Suggest you add your name to the list if you want one.

It's easy peasy to install - even I managed it, and I am feckin' useless at anything electronic. Do it, it's so worth it. Make sure you get the remote hood AND one-touch open/close module

I agree with this statement as I'm also useless but even I successfully managed to install it.
Only downside is the weather has been so c**p in the last month I've hardly managed to have my hood down. :x

Ditto. I am getting so fed up with the weather I'm considering going to church for the first time in about 20 years just to complain personally :P

Blame the Greeks and their Olympic 'rain dance' if anyone saw that today... 8)

Had my car two weeks now and I've managed a top-down drive precisely once in that time.
I'm starting to think that maybe the darkside and a Coupé might have made more sense...but then again

I drove last week in the p*ssing rain, so the roof was getting a good work out (up / down etc).

Temperature is fine, so when it is dry - off it comes.

2 weeks since i got my baby...it rained only once :)

good luck with the weather for everyone, especially for the guys in the UK! :)
