Remote range

Roof down now the sun is out - but what is the range of the remote when lowering the roof? Mine seems to only work when I'm practically next to the car.

Mines a lot better than that, how long are your arms?

Works from maybe 15 meters or so.

I think the idea being it can be done by the time you get to the car. Time it right, you look like an absolute G, have to wait, and you kinda have to awkwardly stand around the car until it’s done.

I would consider replacing the key battery, or charging and using the second key.

Get a smarttop module & you can open the door mid roof operation with no issues

Under normal circumstances I can unlock/open the windows & mirrors from a fair distance, but I have to be much closer to operate the roof.

You might look like a fool, but if you hold the remote against your head while pressing the button I find it increases the range considerably. I do this at work somtimes... but at least it means the roof will be down in time for me to just hop in 8)

Get an E85, mine works fine from the other end of the street. About 20m.

Have you tried holding it against your head while operating it. That really does work, almost doubled the range on mine. But you look a total nut job if any one sees you. :D

Mine works right across the multi storey car park!!!!
I have the comfort option so my keys are different, they have a button cell battery as opposed to the rechargeable one.
Might make a difference!

I did suspect that the battery might not be up to par so I tried the second key and that worked at about 15 meters. But there is no way of checking or charging (apart from in the ignition) the key....or is there?

It's an induction charger. Tooth brush charging stands have been used by a few on here to charge them. Not tried that myself.
