Remote locking problem

I have a 2006 Z4M roadster and the remote locking is not working with either key. I have visited various garages/specialists and the problem seems to be with the receiver in the interior rear view mirror. I have a price of £460 from a BMW dealer for a replacement. Does anybody know if these can be repaired and by whom?

Before you go spending out drop this guy an email with your symptons, could be your GM5 module

I contacted your link, Colin Abraham, and got the mirror repaired by return of post. The remote now works, excellent service from Colin. Well worth noting his details.

It cost £80 incl postage by special delivery and took a couple of days by return of post. CA Auto Electronics in Thatcham, Berks. Repaired last May and still good, very good service. Removal of mirror is easy but only if done correctly. The mirror twists/turns 90 degrees on it's base at the windscreen, you then detach the wiring, just sockets, simple. This is from memory though. The first attempt I ended up cracking the windscreen using too much force turning the wrong way. I would advise asking a windscreen specialist to do it, they do it all day long. Or maybe check on youtube for a visual on mirror removal/replacement.
 
Hi, did your remote locking not work at all? Mine doesnt unlock the doors but seems to work on the boot release and locking works as normal. Not sure if its the same issue?
 
Johnr32, Nothing was activated or deactivated by the fob or the spare fob. They just stopped working, up to then everything worked well. After I had to use the key in the door/boot locks

Thanks. Sounds like my problem isnt the g5m module then...need to get to the bottom of my remote locking not unlocking the doors :headbang:
