Remote Key

Hi all,
New to the forum as i am picking up my z4 this morning...excited is an understatement! The car only comes with one key and was wondering if anybody had an idea of what a remote key might cost.

Good morning Tom, i bet you are excited!!! what spec car did you go for?
convertible/coupe? (E85 or E86)
2003-2006 or 2006-2008 (pre face lift or post face lift)
2.0/2.2/2.5/3.0/3.2 engine size?
colour?

most cars come with 3 keys from new (i think) 2 "normal" diamond keys and a small plastic key (think its called a valet/parking key, no buttons, just the plastic key blade)

there is a guy called BMKeys based in london who offers a good service on here for replacement keys (and is much cheaper than BMW) so its worth having a look at him.

Ive gone for a silver E85 2004 2.2 I SE. Would love to have gone for a bigger engine but as im 21 insurance is a bit of a killer!!

I purchased an uncut diamond key off eBay at the radio frequency my Z4 is tuned for (315MHz). Once I receive it and successfully pair it, will share the results here :)

if you're local to notts I will happily help you code a transponder for the car, would ask that you make a donation to the air ambulance but realistically it wouldn't cost a lot to add a key or two and you can also block the old keys from working on your car!
