remote hood operation success!

I have had my car configured to drop and raise the hood from the remote key fob. It cost £50.00 plus the VAT from Centreville Garage in Newcastle. Nice fella not your usual 'garagey type'. Just in time for all the heavy rain.......Classic

did hardware need to be fitted or was it a case of just a software mod?
Im down South so no way going to come all the way up to Newcastle; however would be interested in how he did this.

Hmm interesting, we could do with getting a database of exactly who can do this and where they are based.

Think you mentioned something like that when I reported Id got mine done... an I said Id take a closer look :oops:

where does the time go these days :headbang:

How far down south? the indy I got mine done is in Ealing, West London...

Im near Portsmouth but Ealings OK. Could you provide details please?

Yes, it cost £57.50 including the VAT. It is a programming modification so no hardware. I simply press unlock on the key and hold the button while it drops the hood. Raising it is the same process. Cool. he seems to be the only fella who does it in the North East that I could find. He asked me for my vin number and registration number before I took the car in. He checks these with BMW and is ready to do the job when you arrive. Plus, I know I keep saying this but he's a nice bloke, I trusted his experience. I am sure there is another post on the site for someone in London who does it too.
 
I went to South Sheilds Prestige German Cars who did the tricky job of retrofitting the Cruise on my //M.. mega journey up from Warwickshire but damn glad I did.

Asked him to sort the roof-up from key but he said he couldn't find it.. I spent a while googling but couldn't find any reference to what the option was called.

Anyone know it ? I have a bloke near me with the Autologic who was trying the "Close Sunroof" type menus but nothing changed.

I reckon Me & Mr Jeeper should go halves on that BMW GT1 thingy and run some sessions doing this for folk!
 
I know of 2 places in leicester that can do this. Cost me £30 and took 10 minutes, other features were also enabled at the same time, 3 flash indicator, audio beep when arming alarm.

I've just booked mine in at Autologic in Hessle, East Yorkshire. He's doing it with my service for about £40. Roof up, lock doors when moving, bleeps, flashes indicators etc...

If u dont mind can u pm me their website or ph. no. details. How long does it take to do it? What else can he do at the same time. cheers. Its about 70mile drive but it would be nice to get those done and a drive I dont mind, cheers

Roof up/down, Windows up/down, flash indicators on lock/unlock, bleep alarm on lock/unlock, memory seats linked to key (not worth it unless you have 2 drivers that use different keys though, lock doors when drive over 10mph.... probably more too
