What are you having fitted exactly, if they dont know if's it going to work or not they cant know what they are doing.

Need clarification on what you are having done though to give any real input.

im having the remote up / down hood option and i mentioned the power locks down when your driving, is there anyway i can check do you know?

I have just had mine done, the workshop asked me for vin number and registration number before I took the car in. They then confirmed with BMW that my car would respond to the re programming.....they said it would, I took it in and it was simple. happy camper

There are a number of ways to do this though using third party modules like the Reinhold that I have or repgrogramming the OEM kit.

The reinhold works on every car an only requires three presses of the lock/unlock button to open/close the roof where as the OEM you have to hold the button all the time which can be a real PITA

I had mine done at Hallmark, specialist in Maldon Essex, works most of the time (not from the rear much though?). Up and down from the key by holding it, cost £30. :D
Really handy feature.

if you use your key and hold it in the open position it should lower the hood, this will tell them that the key is programable or not.

Just had my key programmed, they turned on just about every feature I think. Press and hold, roof goes up, let go, press and hold, windows go up 8)

Where do you live? most decent bmw specialists can turn this on. OCS Motorsport in Rugby did mine and a few other resets for £30
