Hi, i was driving for about an hour yesterday and tried to lock my car after parking in the car park... when i pressed the button the car wouldn't lock so i had to lock it with the key (all windows, doors and boot were locked)... when i got back to the car i tried to unlock it with the fob and all was back to normal... thought it was very strange... has anyone ever experienced this before, thanks in advance

I had a similar prob the other day.

I was unable to get in my car as the fob would not unlock it. Had to use the key and the alarm went off etc.

After I got to my location in Leeds it locked fine.

My parents then told me that neither of them could use their fobs for their cars either!

Really strange having 3 cars all unable to open using the key fob. I just presumed there was some kind of blocking signal in the area or something. But really wiered though! And has worked fine since in the same location at home.

Have this often. Did a lot of searching on it. Seems to have something to do with the frequency our keys use. Its a very crowded frequencyband and the specific frequency bmw uses is free to use by anyone given they keep it under 1mw and for short trasmissions i.e remotes.
We have remotes in the house for lights and these use the same frequency as the keyfob. 433.92mhz to be exact. Whenever I couldn't use the key I drove the car about 100m from the house and try again. Then it worked. So clearly interference.
